If you haven't read Matilda's post "America Was Changed by 342 Tea Chests and 5 Cups of Tea," you should take a look. She explains the important link between the Boston Tea Party of 1773 and the gathering of five women to talk over cups of tea.
In a sense, the gathering in Waterloo, NY home of Jane Hunt (along with Lucretia Mott, Martha Wright, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Mary Ann McClintock) was the start of a movement that finished what the Revolution started.
In honor of the many women and men who wrote, spoke, marched, picketed and even endured arrest, we created a tea product with as much significance as flavor.
First, the teas are important:
LiberTea is a delicious organic young Hyson green tea. It's a natural antioxidant that can help lower blood pressure and bad cholesterol. It also not only helps prevent blood clots from forming but speeds the metabolism for faster weight loss. From an historical perspective, we chose Hyson because it was one of the teas dumped in the Charles River in 1773.
EqualiTea is an organic green unfolding tea. It's also known as gunpowder and pearl because of the tight little bundles each leaf is rolled into...by hand! Then when in your cup, the leaf unfolds to share its delicious flavor. The suffrage movement unfolded across America. It took more than 70 years from that little New York tea party to the passage of the 1919 Amendment.
But that's not all...
Second, we've included our popular gold Votes for Women pin with the EqualiTea. And as a very special treat we're included our new Abigail Adams pin with LiberTea. So you get a half pound of tea, a little background information about the teas and two of our women's power pins.
As Matilda said, "progress for rights is slow." But it can happen. And anything worth doing deserves our patience. So sit back, dream grand dreams and enjoy either a cup of LiberTea or EqualiTea.

Elizabeth Cady Stanton would have approved!
Great story. I will get this as a gift for my sister.
